GRAND ROUNDS
A 16 years old girl was referred for management of her Hepatitis C infection. She had an olfactory neuroblastoma at 3 months of age for which she was operated and given chemotherapy and cranial irradiation. She also received several blood transfusions and fresh frozen plasma during her treatment for the neuroblastoma. She had 2 episodes of jaundice at 5 years and 12 years respectively. Her liver enzymes were elevated for past 2 years. Hepatitis C viral load was 3,36,000 copies/ml and liver biopsy showed mild hydropic changes with focal minimal steatosis, periportal bridging fibrosis and parenchymal necrosis [HAI Stage 7].
